IntimateDVD
CMB Inc (also known as IntimateDVD) is a United States Online DVD rental subscription service, whose niche is in Providing Adult DVD Rentals.
IntimateDVD is similar to the DVD rental subscription service Netflix in that DVDs are sent to subscribers via the United States Postal Service in re-mailable, pre-paid mailers. The difference is that IntimateDVD only stocks Adult DVD titles. (Non-US residents are ineligible for the service, as IntimateDVD does not ship overseas.) The subscriber then can keep the Adult DVDs for as long as desired while paying the monthly fee, although the number of DVDs is limited by the type of subscription plan chosen by the subscriber. Additionally, the user can create a queue of up to 50 Adult DVD titles. Upon returning the DVD to an IntimateDVD distribution center, IntimateDVD automatically ships out the next Adult DVD in the users queue making the process cyclical for as long as the user is a subscriber and updates his or her queue. Customers typically expect delivery of their requested DVDs within 2-4 days of shipment. If the received DVD disk is damaged or unplayable for some reason, or if the wrong DVD was received, the customer can return it for a replacement or have the next item in their rental queue sent instead.
Subscribers also have the added benefit of buying selected pre-played DVDs at a reduced price, should they choose the keep the DVD. Subsequently, subscribed users will get the jacket for the DVD mailed to them for an additional free.
The caveat is that all this is done online, where the user must provide a credit card as a form of payment and means of age verification.
Because of local obscenity laws IntimateDVD is not able to ship Adult DVDs to some cities.
Service plans
IntimateDVD offers six different plans, depending on how many Adult DVDs are rented at a time. All plans are unlimited, meaning that the user is not charged on a per-title basis, but on a monthly basis.
- One DVD out at a time costs $9.99 per month.
- Two DVDs out at a time costs $17.99 per month. (This is the most popular and promoted plan.)
- The three DVDs out at a time plan costs $22.99 per month.
- The four DVDs out at a time plan costs $27.99 per month.
- The six DVDs out at a time plan costs $34.99 per month.
- The eight DVDs out at a time plan costs $43.99 per month.
Plans are priced using US dollars and sales tax is charged in most states.
