Internet Game Exchange

IGXE(Internet Game Exchange)is one of the largest worldwide MMORPG service companies, established in 2004 in Canada, with offices in the US, Hong Kong, China and later expanded to Japan and Australia. IGXE is one of the main players in virtual economy services, also known in the MMORPG industry as virtual goods exchange and RMT industry. Its services may allow players to break the rules of online games.

IGXE was founded by Kevin Fenn, the leader of LES ENTREPRISES SOFTISLAND INC., and the pioneer of the virtual economy services. IGXE registered its trademark in United States in 2004. Kevin Fenn started his business on Ebay in 2001 and launched IGXE to bring the virtual business back on track in 2004. IGXE soon grew up to a large virtual trading service provider, whose thriving business is mainly attributed to the booming MMORPG industry, massive gold farming in China and its reliability. Its service now covers more than 70 MMORPGs including World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XI, EVE Online and many other online games.

The year 2005 is an important one in the chronicle of IGXE. Its business grew and peaked at the end of the year, now IGXE has a steady annual income and business traffic.

Its thriving business also brought IGXE controversy and opposition. As its trademark and business nature is similar to that of IGE, one of the giants in virtual economy services, someone refers to IGXE as ripping-off or imitation of IGE.

Due to fierce competition of the RMT in virtual economy, as well as unrelenting boycott of real-money trading advocated by game companies such as Blizzard and SOE. Since early 2009 IGXE has taken measures to revive their falling business, including suing another similar RMT site IGXE.ORG for trademark infringement, revamping websites, launching various promotion and so on.
