International Coordination of Organized Anarchism

The International Coordination of Organized Anarchism (ICOA) is a coordination network of anarchist-communist especifist and platformist organizations. The ICOA was constructed at the end of 2024 as a decentralized federalist network with member organizations in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region. ICOA primarily functions as a vehicle for joint statements and coordinated solidarity campaigns, mutual support and exchanges of analysis. The Black Rose Anarchist Federation describe ICOA as a new formation that emerged out of the older Anarkismo network and the Latin American Anarchist Coordination / Coordinación Anarquista Latino America (CALA). All organizations within ICOA adhere to the principle of theoretical and strategic unity, an aspect that CALA has insisted upon.

Aims and activities

ICOA’s principal activities, as stated by member federations and movement communications, are issuing collective statements and appeals, coordinated solidarity campaigns, mobilizing material and political support for comrades and organizations under repression, and facilitating cross-publication, translations and information-sharing through multilingual platforms. Among its early public actions was a joint statement expressing solidarity with anarchists and popular struggles in Sudan, "International Statement: Solidarity with the Struggle Against War in Sudan." Another statement by member organizations was published in solidarity with anarchists in Brazil and Venezuela, the statement denounces state repression and affirms anti-imperialist resistance, "International solidarity with our comrades in Brazil."
