International Business Society
The International Business Society is an organization at the Coggin College of Business within The University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. The chief goal of the organization is to facilitate both the needs of international and domestic students who are researching opportunities in study abroad, internship coordination, and exploration of career and networking prospects within the realm of international business.
The mission of the International Business Society shall be to serve University of North Florida students who intend or choose to study, travel, and/or assume interest in international studies and/or exchange programs while satisfying their academic, personal, and educational goals.
Our goal is to provide a network to share academic, career, and study abroad information related to students interested in international business while building knowledge AbOUT our local and international community through professional and social activities.
History
In the summer of 2007 Anne Sheridan, Director of Study Abroad, at The Center for International business studies held several meetings to research the feasibility of forming an organization to facilitate the said goals. The group elected officers and filed as an official organization within the college. As of September 2007 the organization has fully developed and successfully implemented its marketing process frame work.
Within the organization's first term various community leaders involved in international business gave presentations directly to the group.
