Inspecs

Founded in 1988 by Robin Totterman, Chris Smith and Christain Lofgren. The company started distributing high end Eyewear collections by Jean Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler, Matsuda and Alain Mikli. Initially the company focused on distributing to independent opticians and department stores in the UK. After which they extended their portfolio to mid market brands such as Kookai. In 1998 Inspecs took on the license to design, manufacture and distribute world-wide French Connection/fcuk and Nicole Farhi. The entry into licensing marked a change in the business model and brought AbOUT a rapid expansion Internationally. A design and sourcing office was opened in Hong Kong followed by Korea and Shenzhen in China. Inspecs first subsidiary was opened in the USA in 1992 followed by India, Japan and Scandinavia. By the early 90's the license portfolio had grown to a number of brands such as Speedo, Caterpillar (Cat), Austin Reed, Animal, Conran and most recently Manish Arora, the internationally renowned Indian high fashion designer. Inspecs's client base has come to incorporate some of the largest chains in the world. The company's expertise has developed into creating successful private label product for many high street retailers. In 2007 Inspecs was honored with the Queens Award for international trade, presented by HRH Queen Elisabeth II, to the founding owners Chris and Robin and the head of the US subsidiary, Robb Winn, at Buckingham Palace. Inspecs is part of the Inspecs Group of companies, encompassing property (FPL), green power (G-Volution), retailing in Eastern Europe (Maratex) and travel agency (Farleigh Travel).
