History
InnerCamp was established in 2018 by Alexis Alcalá, a practitioner of breathwork and somatic therapy. Initially offering online breathwork sessions, the organization later expanded to provide training programs that combine traditional healing methods with elements of somatic psychology and neuroscience.
InnerCamp offers a method it refers to as Holosomatic Therapy®, which combines breathwork, somatic movement, bodywork, energy practices, trauma release techniques, and concepts from neuroscience. The approach incorporates elements from Polyvagal Theory, interoception research, and Taoist practices.
In 2021, InnerCamp launched a research division focused on studying the scientific basis of the therapies it teaches.
InnerCamp is a registered training provider with the Complementary Medical Association (CMA) and an accredited member of the International Breathwork Foundation (IBF). Its courses are certified by the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certification service.
A feature in Sass Magazine described InnerCamp’s Tantra retreats as promoting personal development and self-confidence, particularly among women participants.. Mantra Magazine has noted the organization’s emphasis on body awareness and self-exploration in its programs, including breathwork and Tantra.
