Summary

In 1999, founders Darrin Fletcher and Chet Thomas endeavored to create a new way of teaching students. It wasn't enough to just deliver the information, it had to be entertaining while still being educational. Because of their experience as filmmakers, their journey led them to develop a working curriculum that instructs students through an Interactive Online Textbook.With this tool, teachers and students have the opportunity to be instructed by industry professionals at anytime of the day or night through downloadable InterViews. Teachers are free from tests, quizzes and paperwork, which are delivered via the internet and the result viewed through an online instructor's grade book. The performance of any teacher or student can then be cross referenced with that of other schools, districts or states in real time. Workshops

The ISM workshops bring student,teacher, and professional together in a six day workshop, which puts them all to work in the creation of a short film for theatrical release. In this environment the participants learn exactly what it means to be a filmmaker, preparing them to return and instruct with confidnece.
