Igor Carneiro Luiz

Igor Carneiro Luiz commonly known as Igor Luiz (born 8 May 1989) is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Dhofar S.C.S.C. in Oman Professional League.

Club career

Brazil

Igor began playing football at the age of 13 and began his youth career with Rio de Janeiro-based Fluminense FC. After a three-years spell with Fluminense FC, he moved to Nova Iguaçu Futebol Clube and thereby ending his youth career with a Rio de Janeiro-based club.

Portugal

He began his professional career in 2006 in Portugal with Sertã-based Sertanense F.C.. He scored 29 league goals in his two-years spell with Sertanense F.C.

Back to Brazil

In 2009, he moved back to Brazil and signed a one-year contract with Camaçari-based Camaçari Futebol Clube. Unfortunately, he was sidelined by the team management for the majority of the season due to a leg injury.

Philippines

In 2010, he again moved out of Brazil and this time to Asia-Pacific and more accurately Philippines where he signed a two-years contract with Bacolod-based Ceres F.C.. He scored 44 league goals in his two-years spell for the Filipino club.

United Arab Emirates

In 2012, he moved to the Middle East and more accurately the United Arab Emirates where he signed a two-years contract with Al-Arabi Club.

Oman

On 7 July 2014, he arrived in Oman and in the same month he signed a one-year contract with Salalah-based club Dhofar S.C.S.C. He scored his first goal for the club in a 1-0 win over Al-Hidd SCC of Bahraini Premier League in the finals of the 2014 Baniyas SC International Tournament, hence helping his club to win their first title of the 2014–15 season.
