Iftekhar Ahmed

Iftekhar Ahmed (), also known as Ifte Amed or Ahmed Iftekhar, is an English actor of Bangladeshi descent.

Early life

Ahmed is of Bangladeshi descent. He attended St Paul's Way Trust School and studied Leisure and Tourism at Newham Sixth Form College. He attended Bangladesh Royal School of Film Making and Performing Arts (Guru Debabsis), Dhaka, Bangladesh. He graduated from University of Greenwich.

Career

In 2001, Ahmed started as a model when he won the first Mr Asia UK modelling contest, where he was the only contestant of Bangladeshi descent. Ahmed graduated from University of Greenwich.

He played semi-profeesional football with Sporting Bengal United F.C. and worked as a coach for West Ham United. In 2006, Sporting Bengal were approached to send footballer who could speak Hindi to play a role in the film Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. Ahmed got the part.

In 2008, he was cast for the lead role of Leonardo in Jonathan Chadwick's adaptation of Federico Loca Garcia's Blood Wedding. He was then contacted by Arshad Warsi to be in his 2010 film Hum Tum Aur Ghost.

Ahmed has had several lead roles in several UK-based short films. He was also cast in the film based on the life and music of a rural Bengali folk, mystic poet and singer Hason Raja.
