IAT Law
The Institute of American and Talmudic Law (IAT LAW) seeks to analyze contemporary legal issues from the perspective of American jurisprudence and Talmudic law.
The Talmudic legal system has a 3,300 year old history which remains vibrant and is still applicable to the latest cultural, economic, and technological trends. There are many areas of potential cross pollination that have heretofore been unavailable or inaccessible to the contemporary legal community.
The goal of the Institute is to make these resources available through live continuing legal education seminars, an interactive website and an extensive audio and CD library. The Institute will cover a wide range of legal topics and issues from both the American and Talmudic legal perspectives.
The Talmud is a composite of in depth legal analyses of practical law, logical argumentation and moral teachings. Its laws and ethics have served as a cornerstone of humanity's civil and moral infrastructure while shaping its legal-judicial systems. These courses will compare and CONTRAST legal reasoning and adaptation between Talmudic and American law.
IAT Law is sponsored by Chabad Lubavitch of Midtown Manhattan and NYLAG.
