HVMT
HVMT (High-quality Media Technology) is a proprietary compression technology specifically designed to be used for IPTV and VOD on both the personal computer and mobile phone. HVMT has a higher PSNR than the industrial standard compression H.264, and is able to transmit comparable quality video using a much lower bandwidth. Like the H.264, HVMT is a lossy compression technology.
Features
With HVMT encoded video, it enables a standard 2.5G mobile phone with GPRS access to view streaming video with sound at a resolution of 176x144 pixels at 6 frames per second (" frame/s"); noting GPRS has a practical usable bandwidth of less than 56kbit/s.
Under a 3.5G HSDPA environment with a bandwidth of less than 768kbit/s, HVMT encoded video is able to display high-quality QVGA video at 320x240 pixels with 15 frame/s.
For standard television use, HVMT can display quality video of 720x576 pixels at 25 frame/s using a bandwidth of less than 512kbit/s.
And for 720p HDTV, HVMT can display quality video of 1280x720 pixels at 25 frame/s using a bandwidth of less than 768kbit/s.
