Hong Kong Computer Society

Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS) was founded in 1970 in Hong Kong and is a major professional body of IT professionals in Hong Kong. It is a non-profit making organization with prime objective to promote the uses of Information Technology in Hong Kong.

Special Interest Divisions

HKCS has six Special Interest Divisions. They are:

- E-Business Special Interest Division (EBSID)

- Information Security Special Interest Division (ISSID)

- Quality Management Special Interest Division (QMSID)

- Emerging Technology Special Interest Division (ETSID)

- Health IT Special Interest Division (HITSID)

- The Youth Club YouthClub

Hong Kong Software Process Improvement Network

Hong Kong Software Process Improvement Network (HKSPIN) was formed back in 1995. The founding members were Mr. John Goh, Mr. Roy Ko, Dr. Hareton Leung, and Mr. Daniel Wong.

The HKSPIN group aims to provide a leading forum for open and free exchange of software process improvement experiences and practical IDeaS. It focuses on promoting disciplined software engineering practices, software process improvement proceedings, software quality, and achieving higher levels of process quality and professional understanding through skills training and information exchange.

In 1999, HKSPIN became a Specialist Group (SG) of Hong Kong Computer Society

Quality Management Special Interest Division

Quality Management Special Interest Division (QMSID) is one of the Special Interest Divisions of Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS)

QMSID was formed back in 2006. It provides a forum for open and free exchange of experiences and practical ideas on all areas of IT quality management, and promotes disciplined IT management and system engineering practices, IT process improvement, system quality improvement, and effective project management.
