Heaven's Last Stand
Heaven's Last Stand is a popular Starcraft "Use-Map-Settings" game. It is only available for online play and up to 8 players can play. An updated version is also available for Starcraft 2.
Summary
Heaven prepares to make its last stand against Satan and his forces, as Hell marches up to their gates. For some odd reason, God is not present at the moment (either he's asleep or on vacation). Regardless, he will not be able to help for another hour or so (approximately 45 minutes). Therefore, it is up to Jesus, 9 of his best heroes, and all of Heaven's defenders to fend off Hell's 3 Prime Evils, and the rest of the baddies. For a fan-made version of the story (which is quite amazing I must add), please see averyfatcow's "Heaven's Last Defense", which may help toprovide some insight on the story.
Main Objectives
The main objectives of the game are simple and straightforward. Just like in Helm's Deep (God help me if you don't know this game), you are either a defender, or an attacker.
Heaven's Objectives: Defend God's Throne for 45 minutes and Kill Hell's 3 Prime Evils
- Side note for Heaven: Heaven may only win if they kill all 3 of Hell's Prime Evils, but they will lose if God's Throne is destroyed, thus players must attempt to complete these 2 tasks at the same time.
Hell's Objectives: Destroy God's Throne within 45 minutes or Face the Wrath of God
- Side note for Hell: Hell's players may still win even after the timer is done by destroying God's Throne, but may have trouble doing so, which I will explain in detail later.
In-game Systems
There are several basic in-game systems that you will need to know AbOUT. These systems are actually quite simple, and if you're not a total noob to starcraft, you should be fine learning these systems after playing a couple of games.
Banning System:
The banning system. Located at the top-left of the map. You ban noobs, afkers, or people you don't plain like. This system is only available for white and red.
Claiming System:
The claiming system. Located at the bottom-left of the map. The units of whoever gets banned will turn into neutral units. These units are available for claim only to the side that the units belong to. For example, if Blue is banned, his units will turn neutral. Then, anyone on Heaven's side may claim the units for themselves. This system is available for anyone.
Gate System:
The gate system. Located at the top-right of the map. Consisting of 3 primary gate controls, this allows Heaven to open or close its top gates, allowing either access or denial to whoever white chooses. This system is only available white.
Massing System:
The massing system. Located at the bottom-right of the map. Do I seriously need to explain this? You mass to your observer using a defiler. This system is only available for red, orange, and brown
Scanning System:
The scanning system. Located near the top-left of Heaven's domain. This is basically a scanner that has a low cost. It cannot be destroyed, and it should last throughout the entire game as long as you don't spam this. This system is only available for white.
- Side note for Heaven: Ping = Scan. Do not forget this...For everyone's sake.
Healing System:
The healing system. Here is a more detailed explanation of how the heal system works.
Heaven's Holy Heal:
There are 3 heal beacon locations for Heaven's heroes throughout the game. One to the right of the Gateway, one to the bottom-right of the Citadel, and one at the top-right corner of Heaven's domain. Heaven's heroes may heal at these beacons an unlimited number of times, although there is a 40 second cool down after each use. The cool down only applies when using the same heal beacon, so heroes may heal at a gateway heal beacon, and then heal once again at the citadel heal beacon if the situation arises. Elites — Zealots, Dragoons, Vultures, and Goliaths — may also heal an unlimited number of times and without cool down, but they may heal only at the top-right heal.
Hell's Evil Heal:
Exactly the same effects as Heaven's heal, limited use for Satan only, unlimited for Hell's other heroes and elites. The only difference is that there is only one evil heal located at the bottom-center of Hell's domain.
Heaven's Structures
Heaven has 5 primary structures and 2 secondary structures that new players should get accustomed to, unless they want to fail miserably and let their teammates down.
Heaven's Primary Structures
It is advised not to let any of these structures be destroyed (if possible). All structures are provided with moderate defenses, such as photon cannons, siege tanks, and turrets.
Heavenly Gateway:
Shortcuts: gateway, gw Structure: Gateway Structure Location: Bottom-Center of Heaven's domain Primary Function: Spawns Elites for Blue, Teal, Purple, and Yellow Secondary Function: Provides heal available only for Heaven's heroes Priority Level: 4
Holy Enclave:

The Citadel Gate:
Shortcuts: citadel, cita Structure: Stargate Structure Location: Middle-Center of Heaven's domain Primary Function: Spawns Elites for White Secondary Function: Provides heal available only for Heaven's heroes Priority Level: 2
Heaven's Benediction:

God's Throne:
Shortcuts: throne Structure: Nexus Structure Location: Top-Center of Heaven's domain Primary Function: Objective of Hell; Must be kept alive throughout the entire game Secondary Function: Spawns God only after timer is completed (45 minutes) Priority Level: 1
Heaven's Primary Structures
These structures are basically the left and right gates, as well as defensive structures such as photon cannons, missile turrets, and siege tanks that are usually defendable for quite a while by Heaven pros or may be taken down in 10 seconds by Hell pros. There is little to explain about these structures so I won't go into detail.
Hell's Structures
Hell does not have any primary structures. It does have a few secondary structures for defensive purposes only such as sunken and spore colonies. There is little to explain about these structures so I won't go into detail.
