Hazorfim

Hazorfim (Hebrew: הצורפים) is an Israeli company. Three of its silversmith founder artists acquired their knowledge in Eastern Europe, worked as silversmiths, created silver items, established Hazorfim in Israel in 1952.

The Artist Y.Merdinger saw his calling in preserving the art of handcrafted pure silver pieces, a form of art that gradually disappeared from the world.

Along with his partners, He gathered a group of unique silver artisans from all over the world. Together they design and create pieces from silver.

Brand

Hazorfim is comprised of a group of Silversmith artists, sculptures and chasers, specializing in craftsmanship of the precious silver metal since 1952.

The company is internationally renowned for designing and creating unique sterling silver pieces and is a leader within worldwide Jewish Art. The Hazorfim home includes a chain of ten stores, a silversmith workshop and a design and development house, with about 300 new pure silver pieces designed and created under the brand name annually. "Hazorfim" silver creations represent Israel to world leaders and may be found in the homes of US presidents George Bush and Ronald Reagan, King Hussein of Jordan, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and many others.

History

Hazorfim began in Eastern Europe, during the mid 1940's. Yosef Merdinger began learning the skill of silversmithing along sides with his future partners Wilhelm Kerner and Michael Steinmetz, in their hometown Tshernowitz, Romania. After the war in 1947, Yosef Merdinger left his partners, packed his toolbox and headed for the land of Israel.
