Harry Hansen (composer)
Harry Hansen (born December 16, 1976) is a film composer and music producer.
Early life and career
Born in Auckland, New Zealand and raised in Australia, Hansen comes from a family of successful composers and musicians.
His Great Grandfather Alfred William Hansen was regularly commissioned to compose for the Queen of England, while his Great Great Grandfather wrote many plays and symphonies in British colonial India in the late 1800s.
As the son of Edward "Eddie" Hansen, one of Australia and New Zealand's leading musicians and songwriters, Harry Hansen has been involved with music since childhood. Always drawn to orchestral and classical music, Hansen became a gifted player of many INSTRUMENTS including the guitar, cello, shakuhachi and piano.
At the age of 15, he began songwriting and playing electric guitar in a number of rock bands and by the age of 19 years, Hansen had become a sought after music teacher.
After spending the majority of his 20s as a graphic artist, he went on to follow his passion, composing orchestral scores. In 2005, he moved to the USA to start a career as a film and television composer.
Hansen is now resident composer for a production company where he writes music for Film, Television, commercials and various internet projects, as well as vocal coaching and songwriting. His film scores include those for the 2009 Comedy Romance, I Ran Against Us and the 2010 family movie, First Dog.
