Harlequin Eastwood Theatre for Youth
Harlequin Eastwood Theatre for Youth is an amateur dramatics society for youngsters in East Renfrewshire. It was founded in 1977 as breakaway from the Giffnock Congregational Church. It has performed many premiere productions over the last 28 years, including the British Amateur Premier of Jesus Christ Superstar and the West of Scotland premiere of Barnum. Recently, a version of Les Miserables Schools EDition was performed to sell out audiences. Many former members have gone on to professional careers, including Derek Riddell, Dr. Jamie in No Angels and David McVicar, director for Scottish Opera.
