Haris Cizmic
Haris Cizmic (born 1970 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yugoslavia) is an awarded artist, published graphic, industrial & Web Designer and musician.
Biography
Education - Obtained a BA in Design from University of Arts in Sarajevo 1. As a student, he designed all the packages for Bosnian Dairy Industry (milk, ice cream, yogurt, pudding, concept for new refrigerators, etc). In the same time he started his professional career as a consultant for companies in Slovenia, Sweden, Germany, Italy and Croatia. As the youngest member of Bosnian Professional Artist Society, he exhibited his work on several group exhibitions.
After the graduation, he worked as a teacher assistant at High School of Applied Arts in Sarajevo 2. In 2000 he moved to the United States. His new clients include software developing companies 3, photographers 4, modeling agencies 5, lawyers 6, doctors 7, talent search agencies 8, dancers 9 and corporations. By mastering many forms of art to get jobs in Europe, he was able to deliver complex solutions in all areas of marketing and advertising, including all available media: TV, radio, video, print, illustration, 3D, animation, and web. Haris gave many TV, radio and magazine InterViews as a musician, designer and artist 10.
In 1999, he was introduced to President Clinton, during his visit to Bosnia, after which he received Mr. Clinton's "thank you" letter. 11.
Among his achievements in music, it's worth to mention the soundtrack for the movie "Escaping Otis" - Sundance Festival 99 12, the soundtrack for documantary "Himalayan Adventure" - 1998, music for TV news, TV shows and his own Awarded project Pandemonium 13
His video work consists mostly music videos, TV commercials (aired nationwide in the U.S.) and DVD presentations for modeling and fashion industry.
Haris wrote an autobiographic novel AbOUT the Rock'n'Roll in Sarajevo Under Siege that got published in 1996. He also wrote a book of short stories, which were read on several radio-stations and published in various newspapers (illustrated by author) 14
In 2006 he worked as Senior Multimedia Art Director on web projects for Chevrolet, including the official Chevy Camaro website (http://www.chevy.com/performance), for which he scored the soundtrack too (audio also on http://www.theaxart.com). Since 2007 Haris works as Senior Art Director in advertising agency Wunderman/Team Detroit (https://www.teamdetroit.com/), on Ford projects.

Web
His web design style reflects a mixture in influences he collected in Europe and USA. Haris treats his web design as a piece of art, so there are no templates or repetitions. 19
Among other printed and published works, Haris developed magazines (@313NOW, Insight), catalogs, City & other calendars (M.Heights, Warren, Detroit Kats modeling agency), brochures, posters, billboards (mostly for Florida, New York, Chicago and Detroit area), logos, CD & DVD covers (among others- D.J. Meshell, Miami 20, AXA, Spyderbaby…) and magazine ads (for companies, lawyers, doctors & photographers nationwide). 21
TV & DVD
He has created dozens of TV commercials worldwide (including TV commercials for 1-800-law-firm 22, child support 23, dangerous drugs, Diet pills 24, all of them aired nationwide in the USA 25), music videos (Spyderbaby-MTV2-2006) 26, music videos in Europe (1996 to 2000), DVD presentations (Launch Talent Showcase 7 minute DVD 27, corporate presentations), animations and special effects.
Art
As a “traditional artist”, Haris does oil on canvas, illustration, airbrush, but also digital artwork and mixed technique. He exhibits in Detroit (DirtyShow – annually) 28 and in smaller galleries (“Orchard”, “Renoir”…). Haris Had illustrated several children books, newspaper stories (most of them his own writings) and some cover illustrations. He also illustrated promotional comix-flyers for the Democratic Party in Michigan (2001). Industrial design
He has developed hundreds of package designs, emballage, labels, package shapes and boxes. Most famous works are: Variety of Dairy packages for ‘Milkos’, 1-800-Diet-Pill packages 32, this-is-not-VIAGRA mint box, sock packages “Kljuc”, packaging design for auto part factory Vulkanol, packages for home products (sponges, towels, etc), labels for herbal products, baths, tea packages and more. 33
Audio
Haris writes, mixes and produces songs for other musicians and his own band, AXA. He also scored the soundtrack for the movie "Escaping Otis" 34 - *Sundance Festival. In 1998 he scored the documentary "Himalayan Adventure", main soundtrack for TVX news 35, music for TV shows and commercials. In 2000 he released his instrumental CD "Pandemonium" - for which he won Memorex CD cover contest Award 36. Haris scores music for his flash intros, animations and website audio tracks - example 37. Writing Works
Haris was among first Bosnian writers posted on the Internet. In 1994, his short novel 'the Abyss' has been chosen by Great Britain embassy to be posted to an official website of Great Britain Consulate in Bosnia.
