History
The Harbour Heights Hotel was closed two days before Christmas 2000, until it was purchased by FJB Hotels, finally re-opening after an extensive five million pound refurbishment programme, for Easter 2001. Its history appears to date back to the early 1900s when it formed part of The Harbour Heights Estate, which comprised the hotel itself, Conning Tower and a small area of housing. The hotel is believed to have originally been a house known as East Looe, becoming a hotel in the 1920s. During World War II Sandbanks and the surrounding area became a military zone with the hotel being requisitioned by the Air Ministry.
