Hani Al-Mazeedi

Hani Mansour M. Al-Mazeedi, one of the sons of former member and founder of the Kuwaiti parliament Mansour Al-Mazeedi, is a Kuwaiti scientist born in Kuwait in 1954. Specialized in the field of food manufacturing, Dr.Hani is known to have more than 29 years of continous works in Food Safety and Food Quality Systems, in addition to Halal Food Services Requirements. However, the system that has taken most of his interests in the field of food safety is Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) in addition to related systems such as Good Health Practices (GHP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and prerequisite programs which formulate the basis of food inspection.

Dr. Hani is known to have presented few intensive training courses for a number of food establishments in Kuwait and abroad, in addition to academic universities. Additionally, Dr. Hani traveled to famous food industries and slaughterhouses in the world and watched closely the latest techniques in food processing. These countries include Australia, New Zealand, USA, France, Brazil, Italy, Saudi Arabia, and Syria.

Dr. Hani has published four books in Arabic, the First One, which was in 1998, is entitled “Concepts on Food Hygiene”. The second book was in 2002, and was entitled “Practical Guide to Food Safety”. This book focused on HACCP and prerequisite programs. The third book, which is to be published in 2009 is entitled “My Food”. In addition, Dr.Hani has published a book entitled, "Index of official papers that are related to food and slaughter according to Islamic rites, 1979-2009".

Dr. Hani has participated in many official visits and meetings in areas of food safety and Halal food. Currently, he works as an associate scientist at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (www.kisr.edu.kw).
