Hamsayehaa
Hamsayehaa () (Eng: Neighbors), is the debut album by Persian pop singer Siavash Shams, released by Avaaz Records and Caltex Records. Hamsayeha is Siavash's most successful, famous and critically acclaimed album. With a production budget of $23,000, recording sessions took place at Rusk Sound Studios in 1984. The album didn't do too well the first few weeks but after a month broke all Persian sales records in the U.S., Europe and Canada, selling over 500,000 copies that year and INCredible number for the than small persian community livng outside of Iran, with its breakthrough single, "Dokhtar Irouni" ("Persian Girl") the album became a hit overnight. To this day, Hamsayehaa is still the best selling Persian album of all time, outside Iran after the Iranian revolution. The album was the first Persian pop album by someone as young as Siavash. The album features lyrics by the legendary poet Leila Kasra (aka Hedieh), was produced by the well-known producer Elton Farokh Ahi, and was promoted by Alireza Amirghassemi who was also the creative consultant and manager of Siavash Shams during the 1980s.
