Hallucii
Hallucii is a short cartoon which was created by Goo-Shun Wang in 2006. He created it at the MFA Computer Art, School of Visual Arts in New York. It was directed & created by Goo-Shun Wang and music was by Wei-San Hsui. The film cleverly uses a type of illusion which makes the viewer see a continuous staircase.(discovered by M. C. Escher) This would physically be impossible however your mind makes you believe it.
The plot
The film only features one character throughout. He is a drunk, overweight man. He climbs some stairs (which have lots of CCTV cameras alongside) and drops his bottle of alcohol down the stairs and a few moments later, it hits him on his face as it falls down the stairs in front of him. The confused man runs up and down the stairs frantically realising that he is trapped. He gets some rope and climbs down the middle of the stair case but as he falls, he returns back to the stairs. As a result of his anger, he smashes the CCTV cameras and finds a secret way to get out. (If you don't want to know the end of the story, please don't read any further writing in this chapter) At the end, he gets out of the building and he is in New York and he feels relieved. The "camera" zooms out to a birds-eye view and you see lots of towns, each town as a stair on an endless staircase.
Clever unnoticeable things
At the beginning of the film, you see the word Hallucii (the name of the film). If you look carefully, the alcohol he is drinking has the word Hallucii on it. This is usually not noticed unless you look at the film multiple times.
