Gundam Astray Out Frame
In the manga series Gundam SEED Destiny Astray, the Gundam Astray Out Frame is a unique mobile suit custom-built by Junk Guild technician and MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame pilot Lowe Gear, using the incomplete frame of a ZAFT mobile suit that he salvaged. Its cockpit is identical to that of the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam, and the reaction of ZGMF-X999A ZAKU Trial Type pilot Courtney Hieronimous implies that the Out Frame was intended to be the ZGMF-X12A, ZAFT's "missing" Gundam. The Out Frame also has a hardpoint on its back capable of mounting the Earth Alliance's Striker Packs, but it is unclear whether this feature was part of the original design or a modification incorporated by Lowe. It is also unknown whether the Out Frame has a nuclear reactor and Neutron Jammer Canceller, as ZAFT originally intended. In late CE 71, Lowe gave the Out Frame to freelance journalist Jess Rabble, and also allowed him to borrow The Compact AI unit "8" to assist in its operation. Jess typically carries a high-resolution "camera gun", and often uses the Striker Pack hardpoint to carry a large storage backpack designed by 8.
