Gultis is a slang word for Telugu people who are GeneRally from the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, India, but can also be used for people whose native language is Telugu . This term is generally considered as offensive when used while addressing strangers who are known Telugu speakers. Also, another term used is Gult which is more of an abbreviated form. It's origin is supposed to come from a re-arrangement of the pronunciation of the word 'Telugu'.

Terms like these are supposed to have been coined in educational institutions, especially colleges where students of one state in the country, go to another state for their education, and are categorized in groups with such nicknames, as per the place they arrive from or the language they are most comfortable with.

Bhaiyya: Someone who is from the Hindi states of India.

bong:Someone who is from the state of West Bengal. This word has become the nickname of students from Bengal in educational institutions outside the state of West Bengal. A more formal alternative to bong is bengali.

gujju: A person from the State of Gujarat.

maddu/tam/Sambar: Someone from the state of Tamil Nadu. "Maddu" has originated from the capital city Madras.

Mallu: A person from the state of kerala. Origin lies in Malayalam, the language spoken in the state.

Digg's/Kondu's: A person from the state of Karnataka. Origin lies in Kannadigga's,the people of karnataka.

panju: A Punjabi ( someone from the state of Punjab ).

Bhopali People from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh are called bhopali's
