GTA Online: The Contract
GTA Online: The Contract is an EP by American rapper and producer Dr. Dre that was released on February 4, 2022, through Aftermath Records and Interscope Records. The album includes six original songs recorded by Dre and features American artists such as Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Ty Dolla Sign, Nipsey Hussle and Anderson .Paak.
Release and promotion
Dre partnered with Rockstar Games to initially release the songs as part of a storyline of one of their video games. A new in-game radio station was added to Grand Theft Auto Online with its The Contract update in December 2021 featuring the new music by Dr. Dre. The songs from the radio station were released digitally as singles in February 2022 under the collective name GTA Online: The Contract and published by Aftermath Records and Interscope Records. Dre was also added as a character in the game that players have the ability to interact with. Dre, who was already 32 years old when the first iteration of Grand Theft Auto first came out, is reportedly not familiar with video games and was "blown away" by the depth of the open world.
