Griffin Guess

Griffin Guess (born on September 8th, 1979 in San Diego California) is a Music Producer and Talent Manager. He is the owner of Cartel Management and Cartel Records. He is married to American Supermodel, Marisa Miller.

Early Career (1998-2005)

In 1998 Griffin started his own company called Machete, a creative services company that drove marketing and music videos. In 2000, Griffin sold his company and joined Liberty Media where he was named Creative Director of Hollywood Digital.He soon became partners with many leading names in the recording and production industry, gaining access to numerous creative projects and media outlets.

Griffin worked on media projects with artists such as: Kanye West, Andre 3000, Jay Z, 50 Cent, Good Charlotte, Weezer, Eminem, Velvet Revolver, Common, TI, and Matisyahu.

(2005-2007)

Griffin worked as the Creative Director of Kanye West’s second album, Late Registration (2005), and third album Graduation (2007). In addition, Griffin worked with Island Def Jam Music Group as the Marketing Director for Jay Z’s album, American Gangster (2007).

Cartel, Inc. (2007-Present)

In 2007 Griffin started Cartel Inc. Soon after, he developed Cartel Management, a division of Cartel, Inc. Cartel Management is a boutique management company representing models, athletes and musicians. Cartel Management's approach to talent management is to blend influential connections, with a grassroots mentality.

Record Label

In late 2007, Griffin befriended Steve Jobs, igniting an opportunity with iTunes. Shortly after, Griffin formed Cartel Records; an independent label powered by iTunes, with physical distribution through Best Buy and Target. (Steve Jobs does not work nor represent any connection for Cartel Records)

Soon after Cartel Records was formed, Griffin Executive Produced Cas Haley’s first self titled album. Cas Haley was runner up on Season 2 of America’s Got Talent.

In 2008, Griffin Executive produced a new Alternative Rock group, KAZAK. Their debut album, Hyde Street, was release in December.

Griffin is currently producing an album entitled, First Impressions, by rapper Really Doe, scheduled for release on August 18,2009. Griffin is simultaneously producing an album for an alternative group called, Lost in Los Angeles.
