Greg Scott (presenter)

Greg "Greggles" Scott (born 6 March 1969 in Macclesfield, Cheshire) is an English television presenter. He is best known for being a presenter on the late night interactive ITV1 gameshow Quizmania.

Early life and career

The son of a comedian, Greg Scott worked as a Redcoat at Butlins and then as a warm-up artist on the Channel 4 programme Countdown for 13 years.

Between June 1998 and June 2001, Greg was the host of 'Greg Scott's Best Breakfast' on Scarborough-based commercial radio station Yorkshire Coast Radio, having earlier presented the evening show on the station. During this phase of his career he also made occasional appearances on York-based sister station, Minster FM, both as a presenter and as a TV industry gossip correspondent on the Saturday evening show.

In 2003 he became a presenter on price-drop tv. After almost two years with the channel, in July 2005 he announced that he was leaving in order to attempt to further his career, his last appearance on price-drop tv live being on 28 July 2005.

In August 2005, he made an appearance as himself in a sketch on the Channel 4 comedy series 'A Bear's Tail' which was a spin off from Avid Merrion's Bo Selecta series. In this sketch he plays himself as a host on price-drop tv selling products such as Craig David's shoe and a cubic zirconia medallion. The actual price-drop tv studio was used for this sketch. He was able to make this appearance through a mutual friend of himself and Leigh Francis.

Then he became a senior host on Quizmania on ITV Play which was also for a time broadcast on ITV1.

Following the axing of Quizmania he went on to become a presenter on Play DJ, another ITV Play show, and also for a brief period appeared on the satellite and digital shopping TV channel iBuy. ITV announced that it had axed its ITV Play channel on 13 March 2007 and most of its participation tv shows, including Play DJ.

In July 2007 Scott joined PlayMonday and Big Box Bingo. PlayMonday finished its run in November 2008; Big Box Bingo ended the following month.

In June 2008 he stated via his official website that he would not be taking part in the revival of Quizmania. However on 4 November 2008 Greg did join the online Quizmania team for its US election special show, and has appeared several times since.

In April 2011 he returned to York's Minster FM.

On 8 July 2011 Scott appeared as a contestant on Countdown. He lost 89 - 57 against a mathematics lecturer.

Scott is married with two daughters, and a Labrador called Rolf (named after Rolf Harris).
