Greg Forester
Greg Forester is a Trenton, New Jersey resident, writer, and civic activist who was the lead plaintiff in the lawsuit that led to the September 2008 ouster of former city Police Director Joseph Santiago. He was subsequently selected as the Trenton Citizen of the Year in 2008.
After moving to Trenton in 2007 Forester founded a blog, called The Ruins of Trenton, where he published news and opinion pieces AbOUT city affairs. Through the blog Forester established relationships with the group of city residents who filed a lawsuit against the city over Santiago's residency in Morris County, in violation of the city's residency ordinance.
After a prolonged court case, entitled "Forester V. Palmer", Santiago announced his resignation. Forester, in his capacity as a founding member of the Trenton Residents Action Coalition (TRAC), is currently involved in lawsuits over the alleged residency violations of Santiago's successor, Irving Bradley, and a series of pay raises given to top city officials in 2008. Forester and TRAC also supported the fight to put a planned $80 million sale of Trenton Water Works infrastructure to a public referendum, which is the subject of a city lawsuit that will be heard before the New Jersey Supreme Court in March 2010.
Forester is a graduate of Rutgers University, current Rider University graduate student and a resident of the Broad Street Bank Building in Trenton, New Jersey. He grew up in West Windsor Township, New Jersey.
