Greenfield Police Department (California)
The Greenfield Police Department was established in 1947, when the City of Greenfield was incorporated. The Greenfield Police Department provides general law enforcement and emergency services to the Greenfield community.
Type of Services Provided:
•The Patrol Division responds to calls-for-service on a twenty-four hour, seven day-a-week basis. •Greenfield Police Officers are also trained as Medical First Responders. Each Patrol Unit carries Portable Oxygen tanks for medical emergencies, and 5 AEDs are deployed. •Units are dispatched via the Monterey County Emergency Communications Center, Salinas, CA. •A Canine Unit, certified in Patrol and Narcotics, is assigned to Patrol. •The Traffic Unit includes Motor Units, DUI Enforcement, Radar Units, and Traffic Safety. Criminal Investigations •The Patrol Division, with the assistance of the Investigations Division, investigates all reports of possible criminal activity. •Assistance with Crime Scene Investigations is provided by the Monterey County Sheriff's Office, Crime Scene Unit. •The Violence Suppression Unit (VSU) is assigned to suppress Criminal Street Gang Activity Code Enforcement •The Police Department is tasked with investigating and abating all complaints of city code violations. This includes complaints about abandoned vehicles, graffiti, illegal parking, noise complaints, [...] abatement, and any public nuisance. Animal Control
•The City of Greenfield provides its own animal control services, as of July 1, 2005. We contract with the Monterey County Health Department, Animal Control Services to receive animals at the County Animal Pound.
