Graham Beecroft

Graham 'Beeky' Beecroft is a British radio personality currently working on talkSPORT. He lives in the Wirral, near Liverpool. He is a former Quantity Surveyor and mobile disco DJ. He supports Liverpool F.C. or Everton F.C., depending on which is currently more successful. Though perceived wisdom, backed by ex-Republic of Ireland and Liverpool F.C. star Jason McAteer (who is a personal friend of Graham), suggests that 'Beeky is a red".

He came to host The Breakfast show after Mike Parry’s heart problems. On the 3rd of August 2007, Graham presented his final regular edition of the breakfast show. He will however continue to work for talksport by covering for presenters who take the wrong cough medicine at the Cheltenham Festival and by reporting on Premiership matches in the northwest of England.

In 2006, Beecroft had an on-air row with fellow presenter Jon Gaunt on talksport, after pointing out that two of Gaunt's three Sony awards were not won by him personally. Gaunt took particular exception to this and proceeded to shout down Beecroft in the style in which he overrules callers who disagree with him. As a result of this, Beecroft gained a hero status amongst sections of Talksport's listenership.

Graham is a former sports editor at both BBC Radio Merseyside and Radio City in Liverpool and reported live on Everton and Liverpool's successes during the '80s and '90s. He was present at both the Heysel and Hillsborough disasters.
