Global College International

Global College International (), or GCI, is a private business college and GCE A level school based in the city of Kathmandu, Nepal. The institution was established in 2009. The college has been running A Level pogram and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs affiliated to Cambridge University and Shinawatra University, Thailand respectively.

The college has also already signed MoU with University of Warsaw to facilitate the students of Nepal with international degrees such as Bachelor of Arts/Master of Arts International Relations. All the programs are approved by the existing and upcoming programs has been approved by the government of Nepal.

Academic programs

A-level

Global College International is a registered Cambridge International Examination Centre. Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) offers international courses, examinations and qualifications to students all over the world. A Level, as its name indicates, is an advanced international degree designed for academically inclined students; its courses prepare them for higher education anywhere in the world.

Students who have taken the SLC/IGCSE or equivalent at the time of admission can apply. The main requirement is academic ability to fulfill the rigours of this challenging programme. Each year Global College International uses a comprehensive evaluation system to select a highly motivated group of students to join the programme.

Clubs at A level program

The college has various clubs where students, especially those in the A-Level program, are handed over the responsibilities. They organize and administer workshops, training, concerts and other educational programs under their own steams.

The clubs have designations for students that include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and executive members that number from 5 to 15 members. The clubs running are: - Cultural club

Master of Business Administration

GCI currently offers MBA program in the day shift and evening shift. All graduating students are conferred the Master’s Degree by Shinawatra University, Thailand, upon successful completion of the program. The duration of both the MBA and the MBA Evening programs are of 24 months.

International Degree in Master of Business Administration (MBA) at GCI in affiliation with Shinawatra University is offered with the objective of preparing managers who are well conversant not only in the various latest managerial concepts, tools, and techniques but also in the applied field of diverse management discipline such as corporate governance, banking, resource management, national and international trades, HRM, tourism and hotel management and similar several areas that they can take up the challenges of leading and managing their organizations by building competitive edge in the national and global context. The program entails multidisciplinary knowledge required to deal with various influencing aspects of management along with the specific subjects such as economics, finance, banking, foreign exchange, insurance, international finance management, and international relation management etc. The program is endeavored to focus on dealing with the issues that affect the way business is conducted around the world. It aims to combine instruction, with opportunities to discuss course contents with faculty and students having a wide- range of management expertise and perspective. Project works, term paper writing, presentation, seminars and internship for eight weeks for the practical exposure are the aptitude building academic features of MBA. Students explore new ways of looking at the problems and seek solutions to such problems through intense debate and close interaction among themselves under the watchful guidance of the faculty members.

Resources and Facilities

GCI operates its academic programs in well built infrastructure with prolific and congenial learning environment. The college premises are amiable. Students can chose to study references in the library hall, or have an option to surf internet for electronic sources. Besides, the college ensures all kinds of outdoor as well as indoor Sports facilities apart from professional skill enhancement opportunities so as to supplement the needs of refreshing the students while being engaged in their intensive studies.

The classroom facilities are also well in various perspectives. The classrooms are equipped with the technology as multimedia devices, intranets, and Wi-Fi services. The entire sections of the college building such as class rooms, library, labs, offices, seminar halls, and sitting cabins are all furnished with air condition facility, computers with internet facilities and digital resources.

GCI has perfectly managed hygienic factors as cafeteria, water system, sanitation and ambiance over physical environment within the college premises apart from sports, academic and functional aspects as the core managing components.

Intellectual learning demands rigorous mental exercise over unlimited time hours. GCI has ensured fully hygienic canteen facilities extended by well trained professionals who serve the students, college staff and visiting guests with standard food items for breakfast, snacks and main courses.

Scholarships

About 60% of its pupils are granted scholarships based on merit and need after a selective entrance exam. GCI also offer partial financial aid to a limited number of exceptional candidates who demonstrate need.
