Giacomo Mantovani
Giacomo Mantovani (born Carpi, Modena, Italy, 19 March 1983) is an Italian director and filmmaker.
Education
Mantovani studied advertising graphics, photography and applied arts at the M. Fanoli State Institute. After this, he moved to Venice where he entered the Fine Arts of Venice (Accademia), specializing in the new technologies of the arts, following the cinema lessons of the notable teacher Carlo Montanaro. He developed his aim to deepen the learning and discovery of expressive means and techniques through which non-verbal communication is conveyed, producing the short films Fame and 2006. On February 20, 2008, he earned a degree in New Technologies for the Arts with the short film Paranoico, which received many international recognitions.
Career
After university, he moved to London in 2009, where he started working as a director and producer and founded his own production company, Avant-garde Pictures, that produced the award winning short films Political Asylum and Adamant.
Style
He sees cinema as the highest form of personal expression. His methodical approach finds a strong base thanks to the rigorous use of the storyboard, evocative images and strong sound atmospheres.
