Ghulam Ali Kamboh

Dr Ghulam Ali Kamboh was born in 1923, in Majitha, Amritsar in a well-educated Muslim Kamboh (Kamboj) family of pre-partition Punjab. After completing M. A in English from University of Punjab, Lahore in 1945, Ghulam started his career as a lecturer first in Islamia College (Lahore) then he joined Dayal Singh College (Lahore) which was followed by M.A.O college Lahore respectively. Dr Ghulam completed his Ph.D in English Literature from Punjab University Lahore in 1962. Then he was appointed Professor of English in the Department Of English, University of Punjab, Lahore. Dr Ghulam also for some time taught English in a Saudi Arabian University.

Dr Ghulam is a renowned educationist of Pakistan. He is the author of well known book "Dickens and Hawthorne‎" which was published by Essex Institute, in 1964. He is also the author of several Urdu books and research papers.

Dr Ghulam had also participated in Pakistan Movement and was an Organizer for Muslim League.
