Gerald F. DeConto

Gerald Francis DeConto (b. August 17 1957, Halifax, Massachusetts – d. September 11 2001, The Pentagon) was a Captain of the U.S. Navy assigned to Chief of Naval Operations, Washington D.C. He perished during the September 11 attacks against the Pentagon.

DeConto graduated from the United States Naval Academy and also had a masters degree in mechanical engineering.

Each year in September, a 5K road race organized by his family and friends is held in Sandwich, Massachusetts in his honor.
