Within Spatial Data Infrastructure Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany) (GDI-RP), it is upon GeoPortal.rlp to assume the role of the service-oriented agent brokering geo data between geo users and geo service providers. ‘Search geo data – Select result – Show map’ represent the core functionalities of the geo data search approach and the online access to distributed geo data as well as visualization thereof. The concept of distributed data retention of geodetic information, within which responsibility for data is vested with the body in charge of these data, guarantees a high level of topicality of data. The panoply of geo data made available enables users to create their own individual geo data product. The consistent and comprehensive application of recognized ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) issued standards throughout GeoPortal.rlp allow for a smooth exchange of data.
