Genghis Khan (1992 film)

Genghis Khan (The Story of a Lifetime) is a 1992 Ken Annakin film starring Richard Tyson, Charlton Heston, Pat Morita and Julia Nickson-Soul.

It was filmed in Mongolia, China and Central Asia. Original director Tolomush Okeyev dropped out. Peter Duffell directed for a few weeks in July 1991 before production was halted. Production re-started in July 1992 under Ken Annakin. The movie was unfinished for many years when the budget ran out but was on limited release in Italy. Heston claimed he and his make-up man were probably the only ones who got paid. The movie was scheduled to be released in 2009 "at the end of the year" in a 2 hour feature film or 6 hour mini-series.
