Gardner Loulan
Gardner Loulan (born January 29, 1982) is an American television host and editor for NBC, MtvU video jockey, actor and director.
Gardner Willson Loulan grew up as an avid Northern California skateboard and rock climbing enthusiast, involved in everything from student government to theater to sports. He currently works as a television host, editor and producer for LXTV's "1st Look" on NBC highlighting the best destinations and the latest developments in food, nightlife, art, fashion, travel, and entertainment.
Previously, he was a video jockey, writer and producer for MTV's station MtvU, and was part of the team that won an Emmy for their reporting on the conditions in Darfur. The station is seen on more than 750 college campuses nationwide. Loulan got this job when a sophomore at Fordham University, Lincoln Center he snuck into the Manhattan Metropolitan Opera House prior to the MTV Video Awards and later created an irreverent short video AbOUT the show. The video was passed throughout the dormitory and ultimately into the hands of executives at MTV Networks. While with MTV University he wrote scripts, produced segments and toured the country interviewing entertainers, celebrities (at the MTV Video Awards and Movie Awards), and countless students.
During his enrollment at Fordham University, Gardner was voted Student Government President and participated extensively in Fordham's Global Outreach programs leading community service projects throughout New York, Pennsylvania, North DAKOTA, Montana, Colorado and Haiti. He has worked with the US Forest Service, Habitat for Humanity, Member of the US House of Representatives from California's 33rd Congressional District Diane E. Watson as well as the Sisters of Charity.
Loulan has shot, edited, directed and acted in short films since elementary school, and in addition to his degree from Fordham he has studied at both NYU and USC film schools. In 2006 he co-wrote, directed and co-produced the comedic feature film Our Feature Presentation(90min) which had a theatrical premiere December 21, 2008 and is now available on DVD.
