Galloper Ibérica

Galloper Ibérica is a Spanish automotive company based in Badalona, Barcelona, that operates the Galloper brand in Spain and other European markets. The company was established in 2026 and is legally registered as Lobauto Motor S.L., trading as Galloper Ibérica.

The company was established to revive the Galloper name in the Spanish automotive market. Its first products, the Galloper Gredos sport utility vehicle and Galloper Ayanet pickup truck, are based on vehicles manufactured in China and use a Mitsubishi petrol engine. The vehicles are scheduled to enter the Spanish market in October 2026, followed by expansion into other European markets.

History

Galloper Ibérica was incorporated in Spain in February 2026 as Galloper Ibérica S.L.. Its registered activities include the manufacture of motor vehicles and the wholesale trade of motor vehicles. The company began operations on 2 February 2026 and was registered in the Barcelona Mercantile Registry later that month.

The company is legally registered as Lobauto Motor S.L., which operates commercially under the name Galloper Ibérica. Its registered office is in Cabrils, Barcelona, while corporate records for Galloper Ibérica S.L. list an address in Badalona.

The new company is separate from the former Spanish Galloper operation. During the 1990s and early 2000s, vehicles based on the Mitsubishi Pajero were sold in Spain under the Galloper name by the former Galloper España organization. Those vehicles were manufactured in South Korea by Hyundai Precision & Industry Company and were distributed through the Mitsubishi dealer network. The original Galloper production ended in the early 2000s.

Products

Gredos

The Galloper Gredos is a five-door sport utility vehicle with a ladder-frame chassis. It is based on the pre-facelift version of the Nissan Terra and is manufactured in China by Anhui Coronet under licence from Zhengzhou Nissan, a joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Group and Nissan.

The Gredos is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine sourced from Mitsubishi, producing 218 hp (162 kW) and 360 N·m (266 lb·ft) of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission supplied by ZF and a four-wheel-drive system with a low-range transfer case and locking rear differential.

Ayanet

The Galloper Ayanet is a pickup truck based on the Nissan Navara D23. Like the Gredos, it is manufactured in China by Anhui Coronet under licence from Zhengzhou Nissan. It uses the same 2.0-litre Mitsubishi turbocharged petrol engine and four-wheel-drive system as the Gredos.

Galloper Ibérica lists the Ayanet with a length of 5,287 mm, a wheelbase of 3,150 mm and a payload capacity of 490 kg.

Manufacturing and technology

The Gredos and Ayanet are manufactured in China by Anhui Coronet, with the vehicles licensed through Zhengzhou Nissan. Although the vehicles are derived from Nissan models, Galloper Ibérica uses Mitsubishi powertrains in place of the original Nissan engines.

Galloper Ibérica has stated that it is considering relocating part of the vehicle assembly process to Spain in the future. The company has also announced plans for mild-hybrid and LPG versions intended to meet future European emissions requirements.

Sales and distribution

The Gredos and Ayanet are scheduled to be launched in Spain in October 2026, with the company planning subsequent expansion into other European markets. Initial prices have been announced at approximately €39,000 for the Gredos and €26,000 for the Ayanet. Galloper Ibérica has stated that it intends to establish a network of dealerships in Spain and expand its distribution network internationally.
