Gabil Sayadov

Gabil Sayadov (Azerbaijani: Qabil Cumalı oğlu Sayadov; born 26 August 1976) is an Azerbaijani karateka, coach and sports official. He is the Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation. Sayadov holds a fifth-dan black belt in karate and is an official representative in Azerbaijan of the World Fudokan Karate Federation and KWU-SENSHI. He is also an Honored Coach of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an international referee and a bronze medalist at a Kyokushin karate World Championship in the open-weight category.

Early life

Sayadov was born on 26 August 1976 in the village of Gyunashli, Vardenis District, Armenian SSR. He developed an interest in sport at an early age and began training in karate during his youth.

He studied at Qafqaz University, where he completed bachelor's and master's degrees in Public Administration.

Sayadov is married and has three children.

Career

Sayadov began his sporting career as a karate competitor. In 2006, he became a world champion in Military Combat Multisport. In 2018, he won a bronze medal in the open-weight category at a Kyokushin karate World Championship.

Alongside his competitive career, Sayadov worked as a karate coach and trained athletes participating in national and international competitions. He was later awarded the honorary title of Honored Coach of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Sayadov became Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation in 2025. His appointment was reported by the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani media outlets.

He is also the official representative in Azerbaijan of the World Fudokan Karate Federation and KWU-SENSHI.
