friendlyway is a company, which develops and markets standard products for self-service applications (interactive kiosks) and electronic screen advertising Digital Signage. The company, headquartered in Unterföhring, near Munich, markets products through business partners in Germany, Europe, South and Central America and in the US. As of 2009, the company is represented directly or through business partners in more than 60 countries.

The standard product scope includes screen hardware with and without touch screen, software for monitoring, updating and controlling screen advertising as well as services for the operation of interactive self-service applications and digital advertising screens.

The name „friendlyway“ is a combination of user-friendly and way. User friendliness of kiosk systems is a prerequisite critical to the success for user acceptance.

History

friendlyway AG was established in August 1998 by Klaus Trox and Andreas Stütz in Munich. In the year 2000 the company won start-up competitions of McKinsey & Company , of the German Savings Banks and the magazine Stern, placing in first place in Munich and Bavaria and nationwide in second plate in the evaluation of approx. 1300 start-up competitors.

In 2001, the company was selected by the magazine Net-Investor to one of the most innovative companies in Germany. The company had originally planned to go public in 2001 but deferred to do so due to the stock market crash in 2000/2001. After a consolidation phase in 2001, the business volume of the company from 2003 to 2008 increased steadily each year by two digits on the average.

Management

The company was managed from 1998 to 2008 by Klaus Trox and Andreas Stütz. In September 2008, Andreas Stütz resigned voluntarily from management. Starting in January 1, 2009, Karl-Joachim Veigel took over the management areas for Sales, Marketing und Services.

The kiosk systems classic and van developed by friendlyway became one of the top-selling kiosk systems in Europe. The systems are used among others at BMW, Philip Morris, Roche, Allianz SE, Deutsche Bank, Microsoft, eBay, Bentley.
