Freespee
Freespee is a cloud communications startup company headquartered in Uppsala, Sweden with an outer office in Helsinki, Finland. The company focuses on developing solutions for advertising and media industries to bridge the cap between online advertising and traditional voice communications in telecom networks.
The company's roots are in a 2007 venture by its founder Carl Holmquist and Tobias Lindgren, to develop a consumer web service which enables its users to acquire virtual phone numbers, which can be used for privacy protection in online services. The founders realized soon that most of the demand comes from media companies such as directory services, classifieds publishers and affiliate networks, to track and prove the phone call traffic from their online services. The company was the first ever to launch a call analytics service for advertising in Finland, and has also enabled call-tracking services on Hitta.se, a Swedish search engine that offers telephone directory, addresses and maps.
Freespee AB is funded by a Finnish venture capital company, Inventure.
