Four Color Films

FourColorFilms (a.k.a Four Color Films) is an independent film company from Lincoln, UK. Formed in late 2008, the film company's first release consisted of 'The Assassin' gaining relative success, going on to release 'Frendo' in late January 2009. Entered into the BBC Big Screen Award 2009, the film won. Frendo is the company's biggest success to date.

FourColorFilms consists primarily of four members, B Alex Cowan, Allan Macleod, Lee Thomas and Charlie van Bergen. All based in Lincoln, Uk, the majority of films are filmed around the local areas. FourColorFilms are known to have worked on various projects with select other filmmakers, most notably, acclaimed Director Chris Thomas on 'Follow The River' in early February 2009.

BBC Big Screen Competition 2009

FourColorFilms entered the short film, Frendo into the BBC Competition in January 2009, seeing off its competitors, the film and team saw victory, gaining £200GBP as a reward. The film received critical praise from the Competition's judge panel, stating

It was darkly emotional, gripping and brilliant!

Censorship

FourColorFilms remained subject to censorship, courtesy of the BBC upon entrance to the BBC Big Screen Competition 2009. The vomiting scene, featured in the Youtube version of the short film, required being entirely cut from the final edit, in order to be broadcast on the large BBC Screen in the Center of Derby. The scene was cut due to its graphic realism and the unsuitability of the actions for a young audience.





Technical Equipment

FourColorFilms operates around Lincoln, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom working with a variety of equipment, most commonly a Sony HVR HD1000U, shooting films in High Definition, and editing on Apple Macintosh using both Final Cut Pro and Adobe After Effects.

Future Releases

Rumors state that FourColor Films are in the midst of creating a range of short films, varying in release dates from June 2009, to December 2009. B Alex has confirmed these rumors are true,

We are in the process of creating a range of films, several in the writing process, and several already halfway shot.

There are numerous future releases speculated for approximate Fall 2009 screenings.
