Forgotten Mountain

"Forgotten Mountain" (Serbian: Zaboravljena Gora) is a fantasy novel written by the Montenegrin author Milisav Popović. It is the first book of this kind to deal with mythical creatures of Montenegro. The book was received quite well from the very start and got many positive reviews, and author was soon nicknamed "Montenegrin Tolkien".

In November 2008. author received "Lyre of Orpheus", first place prose award, on an international literature manifestation "Lyre of Orpheus", organized by Academy of European Culture, that was held on November 2008, in Sofia and Krumovgrad, Bulgaria.

In February 2009. in the first national action that was organised with a goal of promoting individuals and events that marked year 2008. in Montenegro, nine categories received their laureates. The award for the best book went to Milisav Popović (for the book "Forgotten Mountain". Action lasted for a month, and media coverage was done by RTV Atlas. "Forgotten Mountain", overall, received 10.000 votes.

Although only available in Serbian, translation of the book is planned for near future.

Content

The book contains about 30 stories that, aside from already known mythical creatures of Slavic mythology, deal with creatures, demons and fairies, whose "existence" literature never touched before.
