FLINT J

Farran J Mirza (born May 30th) better known as his stage name FLINT J, is a singer, song writer and a composer. His genre of music is Electronic Pop. Flint J studied Business Management at university and is the youngest of three in his family.

Early Life and Music

Flint J moved to the United Kingdom at the age of two, where he lived for a few years before moving to Dubai.
After living in Dubai for some time, Flint J returned to the UK, where he lived with his family. He went on to study Business Management at The American University. At the age of 12 Flint J was keen on singing various artists’ songs, and from a young age took part in performances and competitions singing songs from Bollywood to Bhangra to Urban music. With time, he learned to enjoy and understand the technicalities of various genres of music.
Flint J’s music influences include B21, Jazzy B, Malkit Singh, Jassi Sidhu, Pitbull, Chris Brown and Micheal Jackson but to name a few.
His first album which he wrote and composed entirely himself and which is produced by Flawless Tracks Productions (Dubai) and Naved (New York) is called ‘ADDICTION’. He started writing the lyrics to his album in 2008 and by 2010 he was ready with 10 tracks. The recording process then started and by the end of the first quarter of 2012 Flint J was almost ready with his debut album. Flint J started shooting the video to his debut single ‘Dance Soniye’ in 2012 and released it on June 8th.
Flint J is planning to take Punjabi music to a brand new experimental level with the combination of his vocal style, pop rhythms and urban approach.
BBC ASIAN NETWORK’s Bobby Friction was amongst the first (internationally) to interview the new singer.
Flint J’s three released tracks ‘Dance Soniye’, ‘Aashiqan De’ and ‘Nach’ are currently being played on rotation across radio stations in the UK, Denmark, USA, Norway, Africa, India, Singapore, UAE and Pakistan.
Flint J’s first single ‘Dance Soniye’ hit the 105.4 Radio Spice number 1 spot a week after it was released.
To date he has performed with international artists such as Imran Khan, Juggy D, Sona Family, Labh Janjua, JAL & DJ Shadow.
