It was founded in 2012 in Alcobendas, in the Community of Madrid, and is headquartered in San Sebastián de los Reyes. It operates under the Flexicar brand in Spain and Portugal.

In the 2024 financial year, the group recorded revenues of more than €1 billion and handled around 92,000 vehicle purchase-and-sale transactions, a rise of approximately 40% on the previous year. History

Flexicar was founded in 2012 with the opening of its first dealership in Alcobendas, in the Community of Madrid. Its initial activity was used-car retail in the Madrid metropolitan area.

During its early years, the company expanded its dealership network within the Community of Madrid. From 2019, it began opening locations in other Spanish regions, including Catalonia, Andalusia, Castile and León, Aragon and the Valencian Community; the Basque Country was added in 2020.

In May 2023, Grupo Flexicar opened its first dealership outside Spain, in Porto, Portugal, following an investment of more than €5 million. Additional locations were later opened in Lisbon, Setúbal, Braga, Guimarães and Leiria, bringing the Portuguese network to six dealerships.

Also in 2023, the group launched Flexicar Renting, a vehicle leasing service, and entered the motorcycle segment through Flexibike. In the same period, Flexicar Green began operating as the group's division for low-emission used vehicles; its Madrid location was Spain's first dealership dedicated exclusively to used and nearly new vehicles carrying DGT ECO and CERO environmental labels.

The 2024 financial year ended with approximately 92,000 vehicle purchase-and-sale transactions and revenues above €1 billion. The automotive publication Motor16 awarded Flexicar its prize for best used-vehicle company of 2024. Since 2024, the company has sponsored the Flexicar Fuenlabrada basketball team.

In January 2025, the group merged several of its legal entities as part of a simplification of its corporate structure. That year, the company also undertook a corporate rebranding, naming two-time Formula One World Champion Fernando Alonso as brand ambassador.

In April 2025, Flexicar acquired a 25% stake in Grupo Autocaravanas Norte, a Spanish motorhome and camper van dealer. In November 2025, Antonio García Olmos, previously an executive at BBVA, was appointed CEO.
