History

First Church was founded by several Dutch immigrants in 1893. It has experienced many different periods of growth and decline but is currently in a new stage of growth.

Future plans

First Church is embarking on a major capital campaign to build a new 700+ seat building on its new property in Wheatfield, Indiana. The church hopes to see ground broken in the third quarter of 2015 and construction completed by the end of 2016.

Outreach

First Church has many different community outreach programs. In addition to the roughly $30,000 that the church gives out annually to local needs and ministries, the church runs a community garden, which is operated and led by church members on the church's property. It has produced over 500,000 pounds of vegetables for eleven local Jasper County food shelves.
