Faculty of Medicine, ÇOMÜ

ÇOMÜ Medical School, the Faculty of Medicine of the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in Turkey, was established in 1999 and is the oldest and largest medical school in the Western Marmara region of Turkey.

History

Before the school in Çanakkale was completed, the first students of the ÇOMÜ Faculty of Medicine attended İstanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Medical School. In 2007, the school in Çanakkale started providing academic education to 30 students. Currently, the Faculty of Medicine has over 120 faculty members, with more than 400 students enrolled.

University Hospital

The Faculty of Medicine has a 160 bed research hospital at the Kepez site. Another 250-bed hospital is under construction on the main campus of the University. The hospital is known as 'the University Hospital' or 'Çanakkale Research Hospital'.
