Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Aleppo University

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is one of the eighteen faculties at the University of Aleppo, located in Aleppo, Syria. It was found in 1946 as a department in the faculty of engineering. In 1983, it was separated and become a fully accredited Engineering School. Approximately 2517 students are enrolled in the faculty in 2006-2007.

History

The faculty of engineering in Aleppo was established in 1946 attached to the University of Damascus and it was composed of three sections: Civil Engineering - Architecture - Mechanical and electrical engineering.

The University of Aleppo was established in 1958 and The College of Engineering (Civil - Architecture - Mechanical and electricity).

In 1982, three faculties of engineering at the University of Aleppo were created: Civil Engineering - Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

In 1983, the faculty of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering has been divided into the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Faculty of Electrical and Engineering Electronics.
