EuRuKo
EuRuKo is an annual single track conference AbOUT the Ruby programming language. It is thought of as a non profit conference, for the community, from the community. Every year the event takes place in a different european city and is organized by the local Ruby community. It started 2003 in Germany as a very small and affordable meeting and grew ever since while keeping its familiar atmosphere. In 2007 it was held outside of Germany for the first time. The event usually takes place in late spring or early summer for two days.
Conference name
The name is derived from the words "European Ruby Konferenz", where "Konferenz" is the german word for "conference". Even though the event became international, the name was not changed as it was already well known and accepted.
Speakers
Yukihiro Matsumoto, the creator of the Ruby programming language, is a regular keynote speaker at the conference.
At the end of each EuRuKo, teams from different cities present their IDeaS and concept for the next event and afterwards the audience gets to decide where the next EuRuKo is being held.
