Erik Hage
Erik Hage is an American writer, cultural reporter, and critic born in Albany, New York, in 1969. His books include the popular biographical/critical study The Words and Music of Van Morrison (ABC-CLIO/Praeger, 2009) and the critical volume Cormac McCarthy: A Literary Companion (McFarland & Co, 2010).
He has also been a frequent contributor to publications such as the All-Music Guide (allmusic.com and the well-known series of books), No Depression magazine, and Pop Culture Press. A onetime editor at MJI Broadcasting and Premiere Radio Networks, he pens a column ("The Major Lift") for Metroland newspaper in New York state's Capital Region and is an associate professor of journalism at the State University of New York at Cobleskill. In addition, his work has appeared in the Nashville Scene newspaper, PopMatters, the Times-Union newspaper (Albany, NY), and the Trouser Press Guide (trouserpress.com). Hage was educated at Binghamton University and New York University and is a veteran of the 101st Airborne Division. He is currently at work on a book AbOUT Herman Melville.
