Epicurean Masters of the World
The Epicurean Masters of the World is a series of gourmet dinners prepared by world-renowned 3-Michelin star chefs, all from Europe, mostly France. First occurring in November of 2006, it reappeared as "Epicurean Masters of the World II" in February of 2007, in Bangkok, Thailand.
The dinners were served at restaurants at The Dome, State Tower. The main purpose was to promote tourism to Thailand and benefit charities established by the King of Thailand that aim to bolster rural development.
The event is known for its INCredible luxury and sophistication, with its grandest Saturday "Gala Dinner" (that ends the 5-day series of dinners and occasional lunches) priced at 1,000,000 Baht ($25,000 USD) per person. The Saturday evening meal is paired with 10 fine - and incredibly expensive - wines.
